Interview with Prof. Dr. Achim Kampker

Following his keynote “Cost optimal design strategy of electric drivetrains for medium heavy-duty vehicles based on product development and production costs” at the 9th EDPC, Prof. Achim Kampker is interviewed by Prof. Jörg Franke about the disruptive change towards electric mobility and its impact on the German automotive industry.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Achim Kampker is the founder of StreetScouter and of the association Engineers Save the Earth. He also founded and manages the Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at the renowned RWTH Aachen University.

The interview is held by the conference chairman and founder of the EDPC, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Franke. He holds the professorship for Factory Automation and Production Systems (FAPS) at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU).

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Doppelbauer is a leading scientist in the field of design of electric machines and hybrid electric vehicles. Together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marc Hiller, he is director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering (ETI) at the renowned Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
